Terms and Conditions for goods purchased
Definitions
The Customer: The company or individual purchasing an item from AbbeyTech IT Ltd
AbbeyTech IT Ltd: Any employee of AbbeyTech IT Ltd and/or any contractor employed by them to provide client services on their behalf.
General
These Terms and Conditions supersede any previous Terms and Conditions distributed in any form. AbbeyTech IT Ltd reserves the right to change any of the Terms and Conditions at any time and without prior notice.
AbbeyTech IT Ltd makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, for any and all products and/or services that it supplies unless otherwise specified.
AbbeyTech IT Ltd will not be held responsible for any damages resulting from products and/or services it supplies.
AbbeyTech IT Ltd is not responsible for any loss, or consequential loss of data, or non-delivery of products or services, of whatever cause. While we take reasonable steps to investigate the materials we recommend, we accept no responsibility for the performance or quality of materials or any consequential loss arising from their failure.
The customer agrees not to hold AbbeyTech IT Ltd responsible for any such loss or damage. Any claim against AbbeyTech IT Ltd shall be limited to the relevant fee(s) paid by the customer.
Your item is covered by a warranty in accordance with The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and is subject to the terms and conditions details below.
The warranty for your item includes the hardware only. Your warranty does not cover software related issues such as Viruses, Program / Application Faults, Software Updates etc.
New Items

The statutory rights summarised below are for new items only and are in addition to any manufacturer’s warranty which is offered with your products, such warranties will vary from product to product.
This is a summary of your key legal rights. These are subject to certain exceptions.
The Consumer Rights Act 2015 says goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. During the expected life of your goods your legal rights entitle you to the following:
- up to 30 days: if your item is not as described, then you can get a refund or accept our repair option if possible.
- up to six months: you are entitled to a repair of the item if proved to be faulty. If a faulty item cannot be repaired or replaced, then you are entitled to a suitable replacement or full refund, in most cases; and
- if you experience a fault after six months, you may still be entitled to a repair or replacement, or, if that does not work, some of your money back. This will depend on the expected life of your product and the duration of the manufacturer’s warranty.
Returned items will be tested by our engineers to verify the hardware fault. Items will require up to 72 hours for testing to verify the fault.
Refurbished Products
You accept that any Products purchased which are described as refurbished or ex-display products or used stock (meaning they may have slight cosmetic defects, be a factory refurbished item or may have previously been sent out and sent back as an unwanted item) have a hardware warranty of 6 Months unless specified on your sales invoice. Extended warranties cover up to 12 Months and will only apply if specified on your sales invoice.
- Witin six months of purchase date: you are entitled to a repair of the item if proved to be faulty. If a faulty item cannot be repaired or replaced, then you are entitled to a suitable replacement or full refund.
Additional Information
Our liability for losses you suffer as a result of any item being faulty or developing a fault during the warranty period is strictly limited to the purchase price of the Product you purchased.
AbbeyTech IT Ltd will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses or for any of the following types of loss whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, even if foreseeable:
- loss of income or revenue
- loss of business
- loss of profits or contracts
- loss of anticipated savings
- loss of data
Loss of Data
Any devices capable of storing data are covered by the relevant warranty for the repair or replacement of the hardware only. The data stored on the device is not covered by any warranty of any kind. It is the customers responsibility to ensure their data is backed up as appropriate. AbbeyTech IT Ltd will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss of data stored on the device as a result of a hardware failure even within the hardware warranty period.
Change of mind
New items that are returned in their original unopened, unused packaging can be returned for a full refund within 14 days if you change your mind about the purchase. Items must be returned with an original receipt.
No returns or refunds are available on consumable items, printer cartridges, services or any other items returned incomplete, opened or without all original packaging unless found to be faulty.
Laptops or PC’s that have been used are not returnable unless faulty in such case the standard warranty terms will apply.
Laptops or PC’s that have been personalised for our customer by AbbeyTech IT Ltd are not returnable unless faulty in such case the standard warranty terms will apply. Personalised includes, but not limited to :-
- Data transfer from old device
- Setup of customer details, e.g., email
- Installation of custom software
New item’s available for purchase in-store are governed by strict Manufacturer only warranties. This means that if a faulty item was purchased mode then 30 days from time of sale, then the item would need to be handled by the returns team for that manufacturer. Whilst we can assist you with this process, any costs incurred are payable by you the customer. Devices must have no sign of damage and the item must be proven to be faulty.
Warranties for defective goods are limited to the physical goods only and any additional labour required such as Operating System reinstallation following Hard Drive fault may be chargeable. These fees are at the discretion of AbbeyTech IT Ltd.
All goods remain the property of AbbeyTech IT Ltd until paid in full, regardless of deposits or part payments.
Warranty Exceptions: –
a. Natural Causes
AbbeyTech IT Ltd will not cover or provide warranty against any machine either repaired or new in the case of natural phenomena such as; lightning, electrical surges, flood or water damage, excessive heat or cold storage of machines, unnaturally damp operating conditions, or foreign material/debris and other natural disasters.
b. Physical Damage
AbbeyTech IT Ltd will not cover or provide warranty against any machine if we strongly suspect it has not been used within manufacturer recommendations. This includes keeping the item in reasonable condition and not exposing it to any excessive shock, damp or dusty conditions as well as excessively cold or hot conditions.
